Operator

Channel Timeline is operated by the operator of this Channel Timeline deployment. It lets you browse a YouTube channel’s public videos by year and month.

This deployment has not published an operator email. Set OPERATOR_NAME and OPERATOR_EMAIL before a public launch.

What we process

There are no accounts. We do not read your YouTube watch history, subscriptions, or private videos.

Saved videos and channel history stay in this browser. Clearing local data on this page, or clearing site data in the browser, deletes them. Language preference is also local and is not sent to the server.

When you import a real channel, the server requests public channel and video metadata from the YouTube Data API (title, published time, duration, a view-count snapshot, thumbnail URL) and stores it in a shared PostgreSQL cache so later visitors do not repeat the quota cost.

For rate limiting, the server stores a short-lived hash of client IP plus action, using a deployment salt. Raw IPs are not stored on channel or video rows.

This website uses YouTube API Services. By using it you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Channel Timeline is not a YouTube or Google product, partner, or affiliate. Playback opens on YouTube. Real thumbnails load from YouTube’s image hosts.

The independent value is a searchable year-and-month archive of public uploads — not a replica of YouTube Home, recommendations, or watch history.

“Under 3 minutes” is a duration filter, not a Shorts identity. View counts are snapshots from sync time, not live counters. API snapshots cannot restore deleted, private, or unavailable videos.

Retention and local snapshots

Video metadata in the server cache that has not been verified for 30 days is hidden and then removed by the worker. A sync requested after 27 days runs as a full sync.

Saved videos live in your browser. If that channel archive loads again, this device refreshes title, duration, and view counts from the current cache. Bookmarks older than 30 days that have not been re-verified no longer present view counts as current.

Deleting data

This page can clear saved videos and history in this browser in one step.

The server cache of public channel metadata is not an account. If you are the channel owner, or have another legitimate reason to remove a channel’s cache, email the operator with the channel ID (UC…). After review the operator deletes that channel row and its videos (cascade). Rate-limit hashes expire on their own.
