Find old videos on a YouTube channel

Paste the channel URL or @handle, wait for the public archive to load, then open a year and a month. That is faster than scrolling the Videos tab, and it only lists uploads YouTube still returns as public.

Why the Videos tab is a poor archive

YouTube’s channel page is built to keep the latest upload in front of you. On a channel with hundreds of public videos, “I will just scroll back to 2019” usually means repeated lazy loads, a lost place on the page, and thumbnail fatigue. Sorting the tab by Oldest helps a little, but you still cannot jump to March 2019 without walking the list.

Channel Timeline builds a date-first index of that channel’s public videos: years first, months second, titles after that. Playback still happens on YouTube. This site does not host video files.

How to find an old upload by date

  1. Enter a youtube.com/@handle, a /channel/UC… URL, or a channel ID. A single-video link is not enough.
  2. Submit the form. Large channels keep filling in the background; you can browse what has already arrived.
  3. Choose the year you remember, even roughly.
  4. Open one month, or leave the year on all months and scan titles.
  5. Select a title when you are ready to watch on YouTube.

If you remember a distinctive word from the title, search inside the loaded archive after you lock the year. That search does not run across all of YouTube.

What this will not find

Deleted, private, and unavailable uploads are absent, because YouTube no longer returns them. The earliest row after an oldest-first sort is the earliest public upload still available — not a guarantee of the first video the channel ever published. Old titles, old channel names, and old profile pictures are not stored here.

Find Old Videos on a YouTube Channel is part of Channel Timeline, an independent tool, not a YouTube or Google product.
